HUS 108 - Introduction to Behavior Analysis & Intervention Skills

This course explores the principles and applications of behavior analysis, an evidence-based approach to understanding and modifying human behavior. Students will examine fundamental elements of behavior change and specific intervention procedures across various populations and settings, including adolescents, families, adults with behavioral issues or addictions, individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, and organizational contexts. The curriculum covers the RBT Task List (2nd ed.) and meets the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential, while also providing additional advanced content. Topics include implementing, measuring, and evaluating behavioral interventions, with a focus on increasing adaptive behaviors and reducing maladaptive ones. Ethical considerations in applying these techniques are thoroughly addressed.
