HUS 106 - Concepts and Practices in Elder Care This course introduces the biological, psychological, and social aspects of aging, emphasizing how these factors shape elder care. Students will explore theories of aging, health and cognitive challenges, social systems, and public policy, with attention to cultural diversity and equity. Ethical issues, person-centered care, and professional growth are integrated throughout. The course also includes a practical communication skills lab that prepares students to interact effectively with older adults-including those with cognitive limitations or sensory impairments.
Prerequisite(s): Placement in ENG 101 or higher for English section
